Good to hear from you. As I read your posts and your travails, I feel more and more disconnected from the continent which I grew up in... Brasil is SO different from the Andean countries... In a sense, we have completely lost our indigenous traditions and cultures... There are parts of Brasil that are similar to what you are experiencing, but the majority of the country has been "westernized." Anyway, I hope things keep going well for you. Take care,

Hey Matt, I'm glad your mom 'published' your blog-site in the family Christmas letter. Its interesting reading your wide-eyed American innocence about rural life elsewhere - that's not a knock against you, I'd be the same.
Just got back from the Olympics in Italy and had my moments there also.
Keep up the blog. I maintained an 'email diary' of my activities during the Olympics and reading those notes now, certainly brings back interesting memories.
JUST POUR IT OVER MY HEAD! Matt, you can't even believe how much I miss you! Farr 5 and Boston just isn't the same! Your blog has been incredible to read, I just sit there in awe reading it! What an eye-opening experience you're having! Will email you soon with stories of the Farr 5 patients, remember we were going to wrap our heads in LTM turbans then ride Huffy bikes around the floor?
